Lady Gaga confirms participation in ‘Joker’ sequel

Lady Gaga, 36, confirmed her participation in the film “Joker: Folie à Deux”. The artist posted on social media a teaser of an animation in which she appears with the character played by Joaquin Phoenix, 47.

In the caption of the post, the singer only wrote: “‘Joker: Folie à Deux’. 04.10.2024”. The publication was accompanied by a video with “Cheek to Cheek” as a soundtrack and the Joker appears alongside Harley Quinn, Arthur Fleck’s psychiatrist who falls in love with the villain and becomes his partner in crimes, who will be played by Gaga.

“Joker: Folie a Deux” will be a musical thriller and the story will be divided between the characters of Gaga and Phoenix. The feature film is written and directed by Todd Phillips, the same person responsible for the first film, which won two Oscars. Lady Gaga  has already collected outstanding performances in her career. “A Star Is Born” (2018), on which she worked with Phillips, won an Oscar nomination and two Grammys. In her resume as an actress, she also has productions such as the movie “House of Gucci” (2022) and the series “American Horror Story: Hotel” (2015).
