Jonathan Majors is fired from Marvel after harassment and assault trial

Jonathan Majors is officially out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A representative for Kevin Feige’s acronym confirmed the actor’s dismissal to Deadline and Variety on Monday (18).

Hours after Majors was found guilty of harassment and assault against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Namely, the actor’s sentence will be announced on February 6th, by Judge Michael Gaffey. Majors faces up to a year in prison.

With this, Majors played Kang, the Conqueror in the MCU, considered a central figure in the current phase of Marvel’s expansion, participating in the Loki series and the feature film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. 

Now, according to the vehicle, the studio intends to move forward with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and another actor should be cast in the role.

In recent weeks, Michael Waldron was hired to work on the script for the project which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is currently being referred to as The Avengers 5.

It’s worth remembering that Marvel was already considering replacing Kang’s interpreter after Majors’ legal problems.

In November of this year, sources interviewed by Variety said that Feige met with other company executives at a retreat in September to discuss the new directions of the MCU. Among the topics was Majors’ situation.
